3/28 MATH CHALLENGE

 

Hi Parents,

We have exciting news!  This year, our school is hosting the 2025 National Math Challenge Tournament.  This exciting event provides a valuable and fun opportunity for our young students to show case their skills in a variety of math topics.  Math Challenge Tournament® is a National Mathematics tournament open to Grade 2 – 5 students.  Students in Grade 1 can participate; however, they will be competing at a grade 2 level, division 2.  This tournament is open to students in all 50 states. 

Below is the information about the Math Challenge Tournament at our school.

Math Challenge Tournament® (MCT) at Canyon Creek Elementary School

The registration is open to Canyon Creek students ONLY. 

Participating in this event is also a great way to support our students and school.  By hosting this tournament, our school will receive 20% of the Math Challenge tournament registration fees (from students registered & participated at our school). A few important notes:

  • Tournament Fee: $25 per student. The tournament fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • This tournament is in-person only and not available online. Seats are limited and first come first serve. We estimate the library will be able to host 80 students.
  • If you need to request changes (i.e. division, name, etc.) after registration, you can submit a Change Request through this form.
  • Once you've registered, you will immediately receive an email confirmation containing additional information. If you didn't see the confirmation email, please check your spam or junk folder.
  • Last day to register is March 4, 2025.
  • Last day to submit a change request is March 4, 2025.

We will be sending an email to registered students with a detailed schedule (check-in time, what to expect, pick-up time, etc.) on this event (within 1 to 2 weeks of the event).

We strongly believe that exposing students to healthy competitions early encourages them to reach their full potential. We hope that your students will take advantage of this opportunity!

Event Details

Date: Friday, January 17th
Time: Movie begins at 6:00 PM sharp

Location: Canyon Creek Gym

Cafeteria open for purchasing food-5 pm

Gym door opens at 5:30 for seating

Silent Corner from 6-8pm

Seating Information

  • Open Seating: Please bring your own low seating options such as cushions or blankets.
  • Low Camping Chairs Only: Regular-height camping chairs are not allowed to ensure everyone has a clear view of the screen.

Food and Snacks

Remember to bring cash for food token purchases but we will accept credit/debit cards for purchase above $5.

Pizza will be available for purchase only from 5:15 PM to 6:15 PM. All other snacks and water will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Pizza - sold by slices - each slice = $3 

Cookies or Chips - each individually wrapped pack - $2

Mini water bottle - 2 bottles per $1

Pop-corn - $2 per bag

Popcorn: PTA-purchased popcorn only will be allowed in the gym and will be available for purchase.
🚫 No Outside Food or Drinks: To maintain cleanliness and safety, we kindly ask families not to bring outside food into the gym.
Drinks: Only tightly sealed water bottles are permitted in the gym. No soda, juice, or milk will be allowed.

12/17/24 STAFF APPRECIATION COOKIE EXCHANGE

This year, we are going to try a new theme for Staff Appreciation: Holiday cookie exchange! If you are able, please review the slots click on the button to sign up. Staff will be able to select treats and take them home on a plate to share with family.

 

11/8/2024 PTA REFLECTIONS CONTEST

 
Show us your masterpieces! The Reflections 2024 art competition is on and we encourage all students to submit your latest creations.

PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student art program. Students of all grades and abilities may participate by submitting original pieces of work in six categories: dance, musical composition, visual arts, film, literature and photography. Each year, students create work based on a theme. This year’s theme is: Accepting Imperfection and the deadline is November 20.

 

Judging is based on both the artwork and artist statement, and will be judged at the local level, and may continue to state, and even the National PTA level.

 

How to participate:

1.       Review the rules for your category here (scroll down to entry requirements).

2.       Create your artwork!

3.       Upload an image of your artwork & entry form to digital submission link here by 20 November 2024.
